, parade Monday night near Rice Park as part of the St. Paul New Year's celebration, Capitol New Year.

The Capitol New Year featured arts, entertainment and food
in 25 indoor and outdoor venues in downtown St. Paul from 4 p.m. until midnight.

Everyone who loves Minneapolis and its
fabulous arts and entertainment scene is
invited to CityBall – our gala inaugural
party – featuring a packed night and two
stages with simultaneous entertainment, one
stage featuring live cabaret acts, the other
a dance band.

Several acts have already been confirmed, including:
The Girls: Lori Dokken, Erin Schwab and Debbie Duncan;
Chicks on Sticks; Alda Flamenco; Circus Juventas;
Mark Stillman; Miss Richfield 1981 and a group
of Somali singers.

The Minnesota Film Board will also show a sample
of Minnesota-made films in a separate room. 
And a few more surprises...

Saturday, January 5, 2002 from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 Second Avenue South

Join Mayor-Elect R.T. Rybak and the Minneapolis City Council
for a gala evening of music, cabaret, dancing, dessert and celebration.
