When you start Inspiration or choose New on the File menu, Inspiration opens a new document based on the default template.
When Inspiration comes from the factory, the default template is pre-set to the Basic.IST template.

The Basic.IST template is a general-purpose framework for any type of document.
You can make any Inspiration template (with Default_Filename. IST ) your starter template.

For example, if you want Inspiration to open in Outline View, rather than in Diagram View,
select another Inspiration outline template, or create your own custom outline template.
Then select that (Default_Filename. IST ) template as your starter template.

To select a NEW default template:
1 On the Utility menu, choose Default Settings .

2 Choose Select , and then click Next .

3 Open the folder containing the (Default_Filename. IST ) template you want to make your new starter template.
Inspiration templates are usually stored in the Inspiration Templates folder within the Inspiration 7.5 folder.

4 Select any template you want to be your starter template, then click Open .
A new untitled document opens based on the default template you selected.
All new (ISF-extension) documents will be based on the selected template.

The Basic.IST template remains in the Templates folder
in case you want to use it again as your default template.
