Idaho—The Northwest Natural Resources Institute. The annual Natural Resources Teachers’ Workshop for K-12 teachers includes topics on agriculture, water, forest and mineral resources is held in July of every year. The first four days of the workshop are dedicated to each of the four resource sectors. The classes are taught by resource professionals (foresters, mineralogists, hydrologists and agronomists) using hands-on, grade appropriate lessons that you can use to teach your students about natural resource management. On the last day of the workshop, you will go on a field trip and see the natural resource management first-hand.

Credits available: 3 undergraduate (EWU) or 2 graduate (U of I) or ESD 101 clock hours. The $150 fee includes five lunches, two snacks/day, multiple take home activity kits (paper-making kit, tree cookie kit, rock and mineral kit and much, much more) abundant classroom activities and a family barbecue the Wednesday of the workshop with activities for your whole family!
